Privacy Policy – WhatSeen

Last Updated: 13.02.2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to WhatSeen, a mobile application developed and owned by LAJON ("we," "us," "our"). WhatSeen lets you track the online activity and last seen status of WhatsApp contacts you choose to monitor — generating activity timelines, usage charts, and real-time alerts.

This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why, how we store and protect it, and the choices you have. WhatSeen is an independent third-party tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to WhatsApp LLC or Meta Platforms, Inc.

By using WhatSeen, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. What Data We Collect

a) Contact Tracking Data (Chosen by You)

To provide its core functionality, WhatSeen collects and records publicly visible WhatsApp status information for contacts you explicitly choose to monitor. This includes:

  • Phone numbers or contact identifiers of the contacts you add to tracking
  • Online / offline status events (timestamps of when a contact appears online or offline)
  • Last seen timestamps, as made publicly available by that contact's own WhatsApp privacy settings
  • Read receipt status (where visible and applicable)

We never access, read, store, or process the content of any WhatsApp messages, calls, photos, or files. We only log publicly visible activity status information.

If a contact has configured their WhatsApp privacy settings to hide their last seen or online status, that information will not be available to the App.

b) App Usage & Device Data

We collect non-identifying technical data to operate, maintain, and improve the App:

  • Device type, manufacturer, operating system version, language, and App version
  • App interaction events (e.g., features used, screens viewed, session duration)
  • Crash reports, error logs, and performance diagnostics
  • Data transfer status (success or failure) for operational troubleshooting

This data is used solely for operational and quality improvement purposes and is not linked to tracked contact information.

c) Token & Authentication Data

To keep your session secure and deliver personalised features, WhatSeen uses a token-based authentication mechanism. When you set up the App, a time-limited token is generated and stored locally on your device. This token is used to authenticate your sessions without requiring repeated login. It expires after a set period and is not used for any purpose beyond App authentication.

d) Subscription & Purchase Metadata

If you subscribe to WhatSeen's premium features via the App Store or Google Play, we may receive limited transaction metadata from the platform, such as subscription status, product identifiers, and renewal timestamps. We do not receive your full payment card details.

e) Notifications

If you enable push notifications, your device's push notification token is stored to deliver real-time alerts (e.g., when a tracked contact comes online). You can revoke notification permissions at any time through your device settings.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use data to:

  • Record and display activity timelines, online/offline history, and status charts for the contacts you have chosen to track
  • Send push notifications when tracked contacts change status (where you have enabled this feature)
  • Maintain App stability, fix bugs, and monitor performance
  • Improve the App experience through aggregated, anonymised usage analysis
  • Detect misuse, prevent fraud, and protect the integrity of the App
  • Manage subscriptions and handle support or refund requests

We do not use tracking data for advertising profiling, and we do not sell contact activity data to third parties.

4. Data Retention

  • Contact Activity Logs: Status history for tracked contacts is retained to power the activity timeline and charts within the App. You can delete tracked contacts and their history at any time within the App. Removing a contact deletes their stored activity data.
  • Device & Usage Data: Retained as long as necessary for operational and service quality purposes, in accordance with third-party provider policies.
  • Push Notification Tokens: Retained for as long as notifications are enabled. Revoking notification permissions or uninstalling the App removes the token.
  • Subscription Data: Retained as required for billing and dispute resolution.

5. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell your data or tracked contact information. We may share limited data only in the following circumstances:

  • Analytics & Crash Reporting Providers: Tools such as Firebase and Google Analytics may receive device and usage data to help us improve App performance. These providers do not receive contact tracking data and operate under their own privacy policies.
  • Legal Obligations: If required by applicable law, valid court order, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users or the public.
  • Refund / Purchase Disputes: If you raise a refund dispute via Apple or Google, we may share limited, non-personal usage confirmation (e.g., whether premium features were activated, usage timestamps) with the platform strictly to evaluate refund eligibility. We do not share contact tracking history for this purpose.
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of LAJON assets, user data may be transferred as part of that transaction. You will be notified of any such change in ownership that materially affects your data.

6. Third-Party Services

WhatSeen uses the following third-party services for operational and performance purposes:

  • Firebase (Google): Crash reporting, performance monitoring, and push notifications
  • Google Analytics for Firebase: Aggregated, anonymised usage analytics

These services may collect device identifiers and usage events under their own privacy policies. You can manage analytics and notification permissions through your device settings.

7. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including:

  • Token-based authentication to secure App sessions — no persistent credentials stored in plain text
  • Encrypted data transmission between the App and our servers (TLS/HTTPS)
  • Access controls limiting who can access stored tracking data
  • Regular monitoring and logging to detect abnormal activity or breaches

In the unlikely event of a data security incident that affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law and take immediate remediation steps. Please keep your device software updated and contact support@lajon.co if you suspect any security issue.

8. Your Choices & Controls

  • Remove Tracked Contacts: You can stop tracking a contact and delete their activity history at any time within the App's contact management screen.
  • Disable Notifications: Turn off push notifications in your device settings at any time.
  • Analytics Opt-Out: Adjust analytics and tracking permissions in your device settings where available.
  • Delete Your Data: Contact support@lajon.co to request deletion of any server-side data associated with your account.
  • Uninstall: Uninstalling the App removes locally stored data and stops all ongoing data collection from the App.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights including:

  • Access to the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Deletion of your data (right to be forgotten)
  • Objection to or restriction of certain types of processing
  • Data portability where technically feasible
  • Withdrawal of consent where processing is consent-based

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@lajon.co. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

10. Responsible Use & User Obligations

WhatSeen provides tools that may involve monitoring another person's activity. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of the App complies with the privacy laws, regulations, and norms of your country or region. In many jurisdictions, monitoring another person's communications or activity without their knowledge or consent may be restricted or prohibited.

LAJON does not endorse using the App for surveillance, stalking, or any harmful purpose. If we receive credible reports of abuse, we reserve the right to terminate the account in question.

11. Children's Privacy

WhatSeen is not intended for use by children under the legal age of digital consent in their country without parental or guardian permission. If we learn that a child has used the App without appropriate consent, we will take steps to remove any associated data.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the App evolves or as legal requirements change. Updates will be published within the App and on this page. Continued use of WhatSeen after an update means you accept the revised policy. For significant changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you in advance.
