Welcome to Corpus: Wrapped Chat Recap, a mobile application developed and owned by LAJON ("we," "us," "our"). Protecting your privacy is a top priority. This Privacy Policy explains what information we handle, how we use it, and the choices you have when you use the application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
2. What Information We Handle
a) Local Chat Processing (On-Device)
- The App allows you to import chat export files (e.g., from messaging apps) to generate a recap and insights.
- By default, analysis of your chat file is performed locally on your device.
- We do not upload, store, or sell your raw chat files or full conversation content on our servers as part of the standard experience.
b) App Usage & Device Data (Non-Content)
We may collect non-content information such as:
- Device type, operating system version, language, and app version
- App interaction events (e.g., which features are used, session duration, screens viewed)
- Crash logs, diagnostics, and performance data
This data helps us keep the App stable and improve the user experience.
c) Generated Insights & Metadata
The App generates summaries, statistics, and visual "Wrapped" style results from your imported file (e.g., message counts, time-of-day patterns, emoji frequency).
- These results are generated from your chat export file.
- We may store limited non-identifying metadata related to feature performance (e.g., which insight types are generated most often) to improve the App.
d) Optional Cloud / AI Processing (If You Enable It)
Some insight features may offer optional processing using trusted third-party services (e.g., for enhanced text analysis). If this option is used:
- Only the minimum necessary data is sent to generate the requested output.
- We aim to remove direct identifiers and avoid sending full raw chat history when possible.
- Third-party processing is governed by their terms and privacy policies.
If you do not use optional cloud features, your chat analysis remains on-device.
e) Content You Choose to Share
If you use sharing features (e.g., saving or posting recap cards), the content you share is controlled by you.
- Shared images/videos are sent to the destination you choose (e.g., social media, messaging, your gallery).
- We are not responsible for third-party platforms' handling of content once you share it.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Generate your recap, visuals, and insights
- Provide core App functionality and personalization
- Improve performance, stability, and feature quality
- Detect bugs, prevent abuse, and protect the App
- Understand aggregated usage trends (analytics)
- Support refund/dispute handling where applicable (see Section 6)
4. Third-Party Services
We may use third-party tools for analytics, crash reporting, and performance monitoring. Current partners may include:
- Firebase
- Google Analytics
These services may collect device identifiers and usage information in accordance with their own privacy policies. Where required, you can control tracking permissions through device settings.
5. Data Retention
- Chat Files & Raw Content: Processed locally on your device; we do not retain your raw chat files on our servers as part of standard processing.
- Diagnostics & Analytics: Retained according to our needs and third-party provider policies to improve reliability and performance.
- Optional AI Processing Data: If used, may be retained briefly for service improvement, fraud prevention, or troubleshooting, subject to provider terms and our minimization practices.
6. Data Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell your personal data or chat content. We may share limited information only in these cases:
- Service Providers: Analytics/crash/performance providers processing non-content data on our behalf.
- Legal Requirements: If required by law, valid legal process, or to protect rights and safety.
- Refund Requests / Purchase Disputes: If you request a refund through Apple/Google, we may share limited, non-personal usage details (e.g., whether premium features were activated/used, timestamps) strictly for evaluating refund eligibility and resolving disputes. We never share your private chat conversations for refunds.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including:
- Local-only processing for chat files by default
- Secure communication when the App connects to external services
- Limiting access to data and applying best-practice safeguards
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for maintaining your device security.
8. Your Choices & Controls
Depending on your device and region, you may be able to:
- Disable analytics permissions (where offered)
- Avoid optional cloud/AI features and keep processing on-device
- Delete imported files from your device after generating recaps
- Uninstall the App to stop further data collection from the App
9. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights such as:
- Accessing or requesting a copy of your data
- Requesting deletion of applicable data we hold
- Objecting to or restricting certain processing
- Data portability where applicable

10. Refunds
For purchases made through our website (e.g. via our payment provider), you are entitled to a full refund within at least 14 days of the purchase date. 11. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under the legal age of digital consent in their country without parent/guardian permission.
12. Changes to This Policy
